Early life

Jonathan Majors was born on September 7, 1989 in Lompoc, California, United States of America. His mother used to work as a pastor and his name is unknown. His father was an Air Force officer at Vandenberg Military Base and at the age of 5 his father disappeared. He has a younger brother named Cameron and an older sister named Monica. He attended Cedar Hill High School and later transferred to Duncanville High School.

During his teenage years, he faced many struggles, including being arrested for shoplifting and suspended from high school for fighting. He used to work for income. For his higher education, he went to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where he received his BA and then went on to the Yale School of Drama graduating with a Master of Fine Arts.

The same year he made his debut in a movie called Hostiles where he played the role of Corporal Henry Woodson. On September 2, 2017, the film had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival. In 2018 he appeared in movies called White Boy Rick where he played the role of Johnny “Lil Man” Curry and Out of Blue where he played Duncan J. Reynolds. In 2019 he was seen in The Last Black Man in San Francisco, where his role was that of Montgomery Allen.

The film was praised by Barrack Obama and Manohla Dargis of The New York Times. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 26, 2019. He also appeared in Captive State as Rafe Drummond, Gully as Greg, and Jungleland as Pepper. In 2020 he was seen in a movie called Da 5 Blood where he played the role of David and in an American horror drama series called Lovecraft Country where he was seen by Atticus Freeman.
