Omi Vaidya is an Indian- American actor. He is well-known for his work in Bollywood films. He gained recognition for his role as ‘Chatur Ramalingam’ in the film ‘3 Idiots’ (2009).

Omi Vaidya was born on Sunday, 10 January 1982 (age 41 years; as of 2023) in Joshua Tree in Yucca Valley, California. His zodiac sign is Capricorn. He attained his formal education at Los Angeles County High School for the Arts in Los Angeles. He then attended the University of California, Santa Cruz for two years. Later, he studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he graduated with honors.

Film
Omi Vaidya began his acting career with his debut film ‘Rolling’ (2007) in which he played the role of ‘Assar.’ His role as “Chatur Ramalingam” or “The Silencer,” in the film ‘3 Idiots,’ (2009) was one of his most appreciated performances. In an interview, Omi uttered that he was on a trip to Mumbai when he auditioned for the film ‘3 Idiots’ and said,
As I was planning my trip back to the States, a friend of mine who was involved with 3 Idiots told me about a role they were auditioning NRI Actors for. Considering I didn’t speak Hindi or watch Bollywood Movies, I wasn’t interested in auditioning. On top of that the role was not even written for yet. At the audition, I had to say lines from the film Lage Raho Munna Bhai. I was very bold and nonchalant when saying the lines primarily because I didn’t think I was going to get the role. I was offered the role as I was heading home from the audition.”

In 2011, he acted in films like ‘Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji,’ in which he played the role of ‘Milind Kelkar.’

He appeared in the film ‘Desi Boyz’ (2011) in which he appeared as ‘Ajay.’ Omi has done a bundle of films including ‘Players’ (2012), ‘Jodi Breakers’ (2012), ‘Mirror Game’ (2017), ‘Blackmail’ (2018), and many more. In 2023, he played the role of a ‘Scientist’ in the US-Bangladesh joint venture action thriller film ‘MR-9: Do or Die.’
